1. Objective?In order to attract more people to attend the CPS’s?5-Day Southwest National Parks Photographic Tour?and to take even more beautiful pictures and have fun, CPS president Carson Woo and CPS funding member Melvin Chou has made a big cash donation to fund this photo contest. All entries should be taken during this trip.

2.      General Conditions of Entry:

1. Only tour attendees can participate in the contest.
2. Only pictures taken during this tour are qualified.
3. No entry fee and no return of any entries.
4. Two contest levels: Entry-Level pictures and Advance-Level. Each attendee can only apply to one level.
5. Only hard color or black & white prints allowed. No digital files accepted.
6. All prints must be 8X10 or 8X12, without matting.
7. A maximum of 10 pictures per person may be entered.
8. All entrants must fill out the entry form for each print they are submitting.

3.      Judging Rules:

1. Entry-Level pictures and Advance-Level pictures are judged separately.
2. Group  all entries in the same level by the following 7 groups

• Las Vegas & Calico Ghost Town
• Zion National Park
• Bryce Canyon National Park
• Lake Powell & Horseshoe Bend
• Antelope Slot Canyon
• Sedona
• Grand Canyon National Park

1. First Round Selection: Vote by all audience attending the party. Each voter has 3 votes per group. The top 3 pictures with the most votes from each group will advance to the Second Round Selection.
2. Second Round Selection: A panel of 4 judges (Carson, Melvin, Ben and Johnny) will select one winning picture from each group. Total of 7 pictures will be selected and all have cash awards.
3. Final Selection: The same panel of judges will select the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes from the 7 winning pictures. The rest 4 pictures win the Outstanding Award.
4. Repeat step 2 through 5 for both the Entry-level and Advance-level contests.
5. Judges reserve the right to move a contester from one level to another based on the contester’s skill level.

 
4.      Awards:

Entry level Awards (Total: $345):

• 1 – 1^st Award: $100
• 1 – 2^nd Award: $75
• 1 – 3^rd Award: $50
• 4 – Outstanding Awards: $30 each

 
     Advance level Awards (Total: $500):

• 1 – 1^st Award: $125
• 1 – 2^nd Award: $100
• 1 – 3^rd Award: $75
• 4 – Outstanding Awards: $50 each

 
5.      Closing Date, Award Date & Place:

• Sunday, 11/15/2009 at 12:00PM: Buffet lunch will be provided to all attendees (both CPS members and non-members)
• 1:00PM: Deadline to submit contest entries
• 2:00PM: Judging & award time
